One of the horrible ironies is that because I'm Canadian, I therefore have friends and family there and their health system routinely tests for GBS. However none of my friends or family even thought to mention it because it was just another routine test for them, but once Adam was in NICU, I had a few apologies and "I'm so sorry I never thought to tell you about it, I wish I had!" or "But WHY does your health system not test for it?!" Why indeed. x
